Yoga

Yoga (meaning union) is an ancient healing practice that originated in India several thousand years ago. The physical postures, breathing exercises and meditation practices of yoga have been proven to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, regulate the heart beat, and even retard the aging process.

As well as exercising the body, yoga helps calm the mind and enhance awareness of the self. The nervous system is soothed and the emotions become steady, creating a deep sense of inner peace. The form of yoga most practised in the West is based on the postures explored in Hatha Yoga. One simple but highly effective yoga practice is Yoga Nidra, a method of deep relaxation that can have profound healing effects.

At samadhi we offer yoga as an activity and as a complimentary therapeutic session in individual and group formats.
