World luxury Spa Award winner 2017

Samadhi named Best Luxury Spa Retreat in Australasia.

At the 2017 World Luxury Spa Awards held in Hanoi this month, Samadhi Healing Retreat in Glenlyon near Daylesford was awarded the prize for ‘Best Luxury Spa Retreat in Australasia.'

Samadhi Retreat proprietors Annah and Wayne Mirananda flew to Vietnam to accept the prestigious award at a gala dinner hosted at the JW Marriott Hotel in Hanoi.

Established as the world's leading Awards initiative for luxury spas, with contestants from over 50 countries, the World Luxury Spa Awards give recognition to leaders in the spa and wellness industry and sets benchmarks in service quality standards.

As the Award criteria is based on quality not size, a small regional retreat has the opportunity to compete on equal footing with some the largest and most established spa complexes in the world.

Marna Lourens, Executive Manager for the World Luxury Spa Awards explains the judging criteria: "A multitude of factors come in to play; brand, location, overall guest satisfaction from online reviews, services and facilities, design, and even menu offerings whether spa or restaurant. It is important to look at each establishment as an individual as well, some are on an island, some are in cities or in a desert, it is not always possible to compare apples with apples when defining luxury."

Annah and Wayne recently announced major expansion plans for the Glenlyon retreat, increasing accommodation and adding new facilities, together with a recently completed beautification project of the retreat grounds.

As small intimate healing and spa retreat, Samadhi has developed a reputation as "the jewel of healing retreats", an accolade now supported with international acclaim. The Award also confirms the Daylesford and Macedon Ranges region as "the spa capital of Australia."
